Desc: Sudamerica: Ta hilia hromata tis zois: Directed by Dimitra Zirou. In July 2014, the Greek environmental NGO Green Project, departed for a 17,135 - km journey in South America, from Colombia to the Land of Fire. A team of 15 scientists and artists crossed 8 countries in an effort to explore the environmental and cultural richness of South America. From the Colombian organic coffee plantations to the Ecuadorian Amazon, where Chevron - formerly Texaco - has caused a huge ecological disaster. From the ancient Inca aqueducts still operating in Nazca, Peru, to the floating islands of Uros in Lake Titicaca where the natives use solar energy. From the suffocating galleries of Potosi silver mine in Bolivia, to the vastness of Brazil's Pantanal, the world's largest wetland. From the muddy waters of Rio de la Plata in Montevideo, Uruguay, to the glittering light of Perito Moreno glacier in Patagonia, Argentina. Finally, from the alpine lakes and icebergs of Torres del Paine in Chile, to the noisy colonies of sea lions and cormorants in Ushuaia in the Land of Fire, ending up at the southernmost edge of the American continent, where the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans meet. Under the auspices of the Greek National Commission for UNESCO.
